back in Sweden with a stay in Copenhagen

After two marvelous weeks in Austria where we meet a lot of friends and relatives we are finally back in Lund/Sweden. The stay at home was a very nice and "necessary" refreshment of friendship and relations. It left me with a happy smile to see that everything is as it should be even if we are not here. Of course some things changed while we were in Sweden but those are more or less details.
We left Graz at 5h in the morning with direction Bratislava/Slovakia where our flight left to Copenhagen. Thanks to Annina's parents who drove us to Bratislava we had a very nice journey and could spend our last evening in Austria in "the kongelige WG". After our arrival in Copenhagen we very surprised how cheap the ticket to the city was and how close our hotel was to the station. Considering all the luggage we had was it maybe the best choice we could make. It was the first time for me and Annina ever that we were sleeping in a Hotel that we paid ourself, normally we tend to chose camping places or youth hostels for our stay. But since there is only one youth hostel in Copenhagen which was more expensive than the hotel we booked it was an easy choice. We can really recommend the Hotel Saga, especially the breakfast buffet was super awesome.
A second stay at a place is always a lot different than the first one. We already had a good orientation inside the city and we did not "have to see" the main attractions again. So we mainly enjoyed the atmosphere in Copenhagen. The city center is quite small and almost 100% pedestrian area which makes it very nice for shopping. And that's what we did :). Since there was a huge sale in almost every shop we had the opportunity to get really nice affordable clothes. Annina bought new shirts, black SEXY boots(yehaa Alex!), lingerie, a belt, ear rings and I got at least 2 shirts. The shopping zone in Copenhagen is really amazing you can buy Levis, G-Star, Diesel, Wrangler jeans from only 12 Euro upwards if you have a bit unusually proportions. Aside from shopping we visited the Guinness Museum of records (unfortunately no beer this time) which was odd.
The museum covers a lot of world records ranging from cows that weight 2.3 tons and produce 120 liter of milk a day to humans with 4.2m long hairs, jumping up to 8.9m, eating airplanes and bicycles(!), and a baby weighting 10kg when it was born. In other news: Russians drink an average of 18l Vodka per year, Czechs a average of 157l(not pints!) beer/year but the Luxembourger beat every country by drinking an average of 12.6l 100% alcohol per year. Argentinians eat an average of 56kg of beef (steak for breakfast, yeha!!) per year, Greeks eat 27kg of cheese and the Swedes drink 6.3kg of coffee every year.
One of the most sickest records I have ever seen:

Except from this museum we visited two other museums: the museum Erotica and the Danish design museum. The first one was an exhibition of the history of sex and erotic pictures from the antic ages until now. Very interesting but not as spectacular as 40 years ago, when it opened. The design museum was very interesting with a car exhibition that would have caused some friends I have to forget their girl-friends ;).

In other news are we back in Lund since Saturday night. Currently our corridor is silent as never before because almost all the room are empty but this will change dramatically tomorrow when the "new ones" arrive. We are really looking forward to this! I already started to work a bit for university. Apart from that we do enjoy our life here, cook great meals every day and start running again. Tomorrow we will buy a 6 months membership in the local gym to reactivate our vanishing climbing-muscles.

Nice one :) I hope you enjoy your "second stay" as much as the first one!
For us "normal life" started, too! Only three people in the WG, UNI courses and of course, laboratory...
See you in April! :)

it seems like its getting even better than the first half. Yesterday a whole bunch of "newbies" from all over the world arrived and all of them seem to be very nice!
