sometimes I hate computers...

... today was a good example. I used open-office to write a short assignment. The text was in English the spell checker always suggested my German words. So no problem just switch the language! Well, it might seem this way but it actually was not. I messed around like 1h trying to solve the problem in the menu-jungle of open-office. I turned around 25 different options language options to English and still no result. AHHH! The one option I found that would solve my problem just switched back to German every time I changed the language. Even uninstalling my current version and reinstalling a new English version did not solve the problem. Sometimes computers are a miracle, even to a computer science students...
